Hello Everyone!

I'm here today to propose the opening of a new server, I've looked around quite a bit and it seems we as a community want to start moving forward from 1.10.2, meaning we want to upgrade to 1.12!

Taking a look at all the mod packs currently hosted by KKMC we seem to have servers for all the new FTB packs, so the pack I'm proposing we host is FTB Unstable. While the name explains the pack pretty well, I believe we as a community can enjoy ourselves on this pack very much, and we can be productive to the MC Modded community by, in a sense, being testers for all the mods being ported to 1.12, as well as all the new mods being created for it!

This thread is a proposition to the owners and if it is decided to not be done then that is their decision. I am creating a poll to see whether or not we as a community want this, and to offer assistance to the decision made by the Owners!

Thank you all for your time and I hope you all have a marvelous day!

Just the name alone would be a major H*CK NO.
There are enough issues as is with the current modpacks. You want to add a pack that is by it's own admission, "Unstable", "Violative" and "Highly Experimental".

They state that no support will be provided for this pack, why would you assume that staff would want to take on this task?

Ok so then it wouldn't appear that the Unstable pack will make it but can we get any new pack? I would even take a new 1.10.2 pack maybe All The Mods Expert Mode?

There are packs that are being worked on and planned. There is a process for all of this.
Here is a rough example of how it usually goes.

The pack is installed and ran, it is checked for errors and issues.
Plugins are installed, databases are made for the plugins.
Configs are adjusted on different mods that have known dupe, exploit, performance and crash bugs.
Staff members are encouraged to then join and try to break or test things.
The pack is opened up to the Builder rank to design, plan and implement a server spawn.
An Admin or Sr Admin has to then get ingame and properly secure/protect the area after the builders are done.

All of this has to occur before it can be available to the public.

It may be too much to ask but any chance you could give us a general timeline before a new pack would be set to public for us to play?

@Javatech Heya how have you been? Anywho I would love to see an ETA or at least any info on new packs. I have been on Kooky almost since its inception, however it has been over 2 months without any sign of a new pack. I think the longest i have noticed in the past was a month or so. I know the whole MC world is slowing and shrinking, but any info would be great! I know the time that you guys put into these servers, and I dont want to seem as if complaining, just would love to have more info to curb this insatiable boredom that I have.

p.s. I would be more than happy to help build or test if needed for new servers!

the thing is no new large scale packs have been released that are really workth hosting for us at the moment, we do have a 1.12 pack in the works but its far too buggy and laggy to release without it being a constant problem and unplayable. once mod authors update their mods to work properly on 1.12 i can see us releasing a few new packs

Thanks for the reply Triz... If thats the case I am guessing it is likely going to be couple more months without 1.12 stability... heck 1.10 is still far from stable :). So from what i understand aside from a super major pack release, kooky is done with 1.7 , and 1.10 and is waiting for 1.12? I am now sad and am going to hide in the corner...
